Our Mission

Behavioral Community Connections is dedicated to supporting children and adults with neurodivergencies and challenging behaviors, and their families in the development of skills needed to achieve personal life-long goals with techniques grounded in Applied Behavioral Analysis that embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping to create a world where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Sara Cook, Founder

Sara is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has a passion for helping children, who engage in severe challenging behaviors. Sara started her journey working with people with disabilities in 2010, in upstate NY. She started receiving training in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2015 and became a BCBA in 2018. She moved to Colorado in 2019 and started working more specifically with children diagnosed with various emotional and behavioral disorders, and their caregivers. Through working with these families in a variety of settings, and collaborating with other professionals (e.g., psychotherapists, OT, SLP, teachers, respite care providers and case workers), Sara became inspired to learn more about integrating trauma-informed and ascent based approaches into ABA and became passionate about getting families connected to various resources.

Caregiver Training and Resources

Behavioral Community Connections currently provides in-home caregiver training by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and assists with connecting families to resources, such as waivers.

We would like to expand these trainings to group classes. Training will include principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and how to apply said principles in the home and community settings. Training will also include QBS Safety Care, which will teach caregivers how to minimize and respond to challenging behaviors, while maintaining safety and dignity.
